Contest Rules and Competitor Agreement

Important!!!: Please read this agreement carefully. Submitting your application to be a competitor is indication that you agree to these terms and conditions:

  • You must reside in the National Capital Region
  • During the year following the contest, the first place winner must be prepared to:
    • help organize Ottawa Pride activities and represent the Ottawa Bears in the parade
    • become the official club greeter during Ottawa Bear brunches (duties include greeting arrivals at the door and making introductions for newcomers)
    • attend Ottawa Bear organizing committee meetings (1 per month) and participate in event planning and club activities
    • make a short step-down speech at the next Mr. Ottawa Bear competition
  • You agree to allow your name and photo to be used and published in media publications, on the Ottawa Bears web site and in promotional material for this and future competitions.
  • You will forward a current photo of yourself to bears@gayottawa.com. This application is incomplete without a photo.
  • If you require any specific music during your stage appearance, you may also forward it to bears@gayottawa.com (MP3)  or make arrangements for delivery before the deadline otherwise, we will select something appropriate.
  • The deadline for application is January 12, 2008.
